Ribeira Sacra, Spain, September 18, 2025
The precipitous canyons of the Ribeira Sacra are a world-renowned destination where some of the planet’s finest wines are cultivated. During the harvest, the climate is brutal, and the skilled workforce—drawn by the sheer physical demand of the terrain—arrives from across Europe. Working these terraces, whether as a harvester or a photographer, requires constant hydration and protection from the sun. The heat is unforgiving, and the harsh, vertical light forces a complete technical challenge. There is no choosing your moment; the harvest happens when the grapes are ready.
