For several years, I have been immersed in a project about the Corpus Danza das Penlas e Espadas in Redondela, an intangible treasure of the Pontevedra province. In squares packed with onlookers, the Penlas (young girls) soar above the crowd on the shoulders of the Burras, while dancers weave intricate patterns below. Photographing this is a challenge: the action is frantic, the space is cramped, and every moment is as vital as it is fleeting. Pure Photography.
